I am Mike, a retired Firefighter living in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

In October 2013, my little finger and thumb would come together and would need to be pulled apart.

In January 2014, bumps appeared on my palms.

I went to a clinic and was referred to a hand surgeon who said all I could do was wait until the fingers curled up and then, "Z" shaped incisions would cut the cords, uncurling my fingers.

Besides the hand surgery route, there is also available Needle Aponeurotomy which uses an enzyme to dissolve the collagen of the cords and then your fingers are manually uncurled, thus snapping the cords.
